Limited run coffees, limited edition collaborative things. We roast the coffees we’re excited about every Tuesday, and send them to you on Wednesday. As a subscriber, you get access to limited and unique collaborations between Deft and like-minded artists. It’s the beautiful, little things that can elevate, broaden, and profoundly deepen our experiences. We think you’ll agree.

Thick mouthfeel. Chocolate, plum, & ripe blackberry coulis with a clear peach note in the finish. This has solid acidity that lends structure rather than dominates, with a light malic (apple) sweetness that moves forward as it cools

I particularly like the cleanliness that comes from brewing with a vacuum pot, but the denser body and peach note together also work well as straight espresso

We're about more than just coffee

We love great coffee. We have a passion for revealing coffee’s unique combinations of seasons, care, and varieties – beautifully roasted in small batches to be fruit-forward and gently sweet. Think old-world wines. But beyond that, we believe that coffee can be the connection point for more. Periodically, we release limited and unique collaborations with like-minded artists, little things that also expand the beauty of your daily experience.

MORE DETAILS

The delicate aromatics that we love dissipate first, and push us to keep the coffee as fresh as possible. So the source of the coffees we include in our subscription will change throughout the year to follow the seasons, but our philosophy for selecting them won’t. We prefer coffees that are complexly fruit-forward, and gently sweet: floral aromas underscored with berry, spice, stone fruit flavors; and tempered with enough sweetness to balance it. Consider it like old-world wines. Structured with clear flavors rather than jammy and cloying. The vibrancy of a truly great coffee, delicately roasted while it’s in its peak window is one of the most beautiful experiences to be had, we think. We think you’ll love it.

We keep this page updated the coffee or coffees we are currently delivering for our subscribers, along with some deep-dive information you nerdy types. Dig deep and enjoy. 

We ship on Wednesdays via USPS First Class mail, so depending on where you live, you should have coffee in a day or two after that. Just enough time for it to degas.

You have almost complete control over how your subscription works. We can’t change the day we roast (yet), but beyond that, you are able to manage your subscription from your account panel in ways most subscriptions don’t allow you to do.

You can adjust how much, how often or pause for any reason. On vacation? That’s awesome. Pause it and we’ll hold off on sending your next bag until you get back. Not drinking as much as you used to? Hmm, well ok, you can choose to get less frequent deliveries until you are back up to speed. Guests in for the week? Sounds fun. Add a bag to your next delivery.

Of course, you can always reach out to us directly if you need to. The only thing we ask is that you make any changes to your scheduled delivery before midnight on the Monday before we roast. And since you pay as you go it’s easy to adjust on the fly.

We work with like-minded artists to offer you items that add to your daily routine, and make them available only to our coffee subscribers.  

These items range from the duh – useful coffee tools, cups & mugs – to things we simply think add beauty and joy to the small moments of your life. A book. A brunch. A blanket. There really is no limit to how coffee can connect.

We release these periodically, in limited numbers, and once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good. Don’t hesitate to grab the ones you connect with as soon as they’re released.
