Mutovu
Grown in Nayamasheke, Rwanda
This is pure poise in a cup. Rich chocolate lifted out of the earth by vanilla, fig, and a rounded, sweet orange fruitiness. Just enough acidity to be lively, but still like comfort food. Just. So. Good. It invites you back again as soon as you’ve downed the last of your cup.

The importance of small moments
Our daily rituals may only make up tiny moments in our lives, but they are a powerful force that weaves together life-long relationships moment by moment. We trust in the small things most. We believe that when we make our personal moments more pleasurable, more vibrant, more sustainable, and more healthy, we do it not for the sake of that moment, but for the broader impact that moment has. We have chosen to use our love of coffee to be a beautiful part of something more.
You get more when you subscribe
When you subscribe to Deft, you gain access to limited and unique collaborations with like-minded artists that elevate, broaden, and deepen our experiences, not just of coffee, but how we approach our daily lives. Keep an eye out for our first collaboration coming soon.
The delicate aromatics that we love dissipate first, and push us to keep the coffee as fresh as possible. So the source of the coffees we include in our subscription will change throughout the year, but our philosophy for selecting them won’t.. We prefer coffees that are complexly fruit-forward, and gently sweet: floral aromas underscored with berry, spice, stone fruit flavors; and tempered with enough sweetness to balance it. The vibrancy of a truly great coffee, delicately roasted while it’s in its peak window is one of the most beautiful experiences to be had, we think. We think you’ll love it.
We keep this page updated the coffee we are currently delivering, along with some deep-dive information you nerdy types
We ship on Wednesdays via USPS First Class mail, so depending on where you live, you should have coffee in a day or two after that. Just enough time for it to degas.
You have almost complete control over how your subscription works. We can’t change the day we roast (yet), but beyond that, you are able to manage your subscription from your account panel in ways most subscriptions don’t allow you to do.
You can adjust how much, how often or pause for any reason. On vacation? That’s awesome. We’ll hold off on sending your next bag until you get back. Not drinking as much as you used to? Hmm, well ok, you can choose to get less frequent deliveries until you are back up to speed. Guests in for the week? Sounds fun. Add a bag to your next delivery.
Of course, you can always reach out to us directly if you need to. The only thing we ask is that you make any changes to your scheduled delivery before midnight on the Monday before we roast. And since you pay as you go it’s easy adjust on the fly.
